- For artists: stage name, profile photo, genre, bio, social links, and other public profile details.

- Music uploads, artwork, metadata, comments, messages, likes, and interactions.
Payment & Monetization Information
- If you earn through subscriptions or payouts, we collect payout-related information managed securely by third-party processors (e.g., Stripe).
Communications With Us
- Support requests, feedback, survey responses, and other communication.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use GrooveTie, we automatically record:
Usage Data
- Streams, plays, follows, subscriptions, watch time, search queries, interactions with artists and fans, and navigation patterns.
Device & Technical Data
- Device type, OS, browser type, mobile carrier, unique device identifiers, and app version.
Log Data
- IP address, access times, referring pages, crash reports, and diagnostic logs.
IP Address & Geolocation
- We automatically collect your IP address when you access GrooveTie.
- We use third-party geolocation services (BigDataCloud) to derive approximate location data from your IP address, including city, locality, state, country, timezone, and postcode.
- This geolocation data is refreshed approximately every 24 hours while you use the app.
- For users who have not yet logged in, this location data is stored locally on your device to provide better service until you create an account.
- Older versions of our app may request device-based location permission for more precise location tracking. This is optional and you can choose to allow precise or approximate location, or deny access entirely.
Location Information
- IP-Based Location (Current Version): We automatically derive approximate location (city, locality, state, country, timezone, postcode, and approximate coordinates) from your IP address using third-party geolocation APIs. This does not require your permission.
- Device-Based Location (Legacy App Versions): Older versions of the app may request device location permissions. If granted, we collect precise or approximate GPS coordinates, city, state, and country as selected by you. This is optional.
- We use location data to show you nearby artists, local content, personalized recommendations, and region-appropriate features.
1.3 Cookies, Local Storage & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in
- Store location data for non-logged-in users
- Personalize content recommendations
- Measure performance and analytics
- Improve streaming quality
- Understand usage patterns
- Deliver promotional content (where legally permitted)
Local Storage: For users who haven't logged in yet, we temporarily store location data (city, state, country, etc.) in your browser's local storage to provide personalized content. This data remains on your device until you clear your browser data or log in.
You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Disabling these features may affect platform performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate and provide the core GrooveTie Service
- Help artists build fan relationships (e.g., analytics, engagement tools)
- Personalize your music recommendations and feed
- Show you nearby artists and localized content based on your location

- Improve platform performance, prevent outages, and analyze trends

GrooveTie does not sell your personal data.

Information you set as public — such as your artist profile, content, images, bio, and posts — is visible to other users on GrooveTie.
3.2 Service Providers
Trusted third-party partners help us operate and improve GrooveTie, including:

- Cloud hosting and storage
- Geolocation API providers (e.g., BigDataCloud)
- Data analytics providers

These partners only access necessary information and must follow confidentiality and security requirements.
3.3 Advertising Partners
We may share limited, non-precise location information with advertising partners to show you relevant local advertisements. This includes:
- Locality/area name
- City

We DO NOT share:
- Precise GPS coordinates
- Your exact IP address
- Street-level addresses
You can opt out of personalized advertising through your account settings.
